Giddiup is an equestrian building company that specializes in post and rail fencing, timber gates and unique timber structures.
Over the last decade Giddiup has built and designed some of Sydney’s most beautiful properties, polo farms, equestrian complexes and even movie sets. Often taking overgrown paddocks and tumbling down acreage sites and turning them into highly functioning horse farms or stunning landscaped, rural residences.
Giddiup provides a comprehensive service for the owners of "lifestyle" blocks including fencing, building, irrigation and landscaping. Giddiup is able to manage all areas of development from architectural plans to the co-ordination of all the trades on site for an efficient and smooth building experience.
Hugh Parry-Okeden, established the business in 1999 after enjoying success as a sculptor and fine furniture maker. He exhibited with some of Australia’s best artists and had a shop front in Sydney’s Argyle Stores. However a fire destroyed his workshop and burned a lifetime of carefully gathered materials. Devastated and needing to start again, Hugh looked for a new venture that could incorporate his love of horses, polo, timber and art.
The Giddiup business model eventually evolved as a direct response to the marketplace. Consumer demand existed for a business to deliver well thought out, good looking and professionally built equestrian facilities. Property owners wanted an organisation who could advise on a range of rural building issues with a holistic perspective and who could handle more than one concern at a time. Giddiup was able to provide this service offering clients a number products such as fencing, drainage solutions, landscaping, irrigation, arenas, stables and barns. Giddiup offered more than just a rural fence.
Using his background in carpentry and building and experience with horses, Hugh was able to quickly develop a solid business name for Giddiup around the Hills District and Hawkesbury Basin. Displaying style, using superior materials and paying great attention to detail Giddiup earned a reputation for service, superior quality and unique creativity.
Today Giddiup, is still based in north, western Sydney and it is now a busy company that employs many talented local builders, carpenters, craftsman and young people. Giddiup supports local business and encourages the use of tradesmen and manufacturers from within the area.
Giddiup also strongly believes in investing in it’s local community and sponsors several community events and charities, such as Sydney International Three Day Event, SIEC Eventing, Arndell Equestrian Carnival, Goulburn Horse Trials, Pink Ribbon Day for Breast Cancer, Project Vanuatu, Windsor Polo Club and the Rural Bushfire Brigade.
